iPhone 3gs 3.0.1 Apps Crash on startup

I upgraded my iPhone 3gs to the newest firmware 3.0.1 earlier this week. Everything seemed to go well until I tried to launch my USA Today app and it crashed. I tried a few more apps and they all crashed too. I figured no big deal I will just back up and restore the phone and things will be fine. I ran the restore and then I sync'd my apps back on and the problem is still the same. Native apps work fine like Safari and Stocks but all third party apps crash on start up. I poked around and everyones advice was to restore. If anyone has another suggestion short of going to the Genius Bar(can't make it there until atleast Saturday) I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Just adding another data point. I recently got a 3GS and am running 3.1.2. Every few days, all downloaded apps crash immediately. Note these were downloaded directly from the App Store, not via iTunes (I synch infrequently).

Downloading a new free app from the app store fixes the problem immediately - so far.

I'm hoping Apple actually fixes this problem rather than giving us the equivalent of "try rebooting and maybe it will go away".

It is very, very annoying to have to download some free app every day to "fix" this issue. It is not being fixed. I called Apple, and they say that these are 3rd party apps, and those apps have problems... Come on Apple - these are your showcase apps I am talking about - NYTimes, Time.com, even ATT myWireless... every 3rd party app crashes on opening every few day I sync the applications to my computer. FIX THIS NOW, APPLE!
