.wmv files

I have a couple o questions I'm hoping someone can hekp out with:

1. I'm considering downloading flip4mac so that I can play wmv files. Are there any problems I can expect to encounter. How can I uninstall flip4mac if I don't like it?

2. Is anyone aware if a future version of Quicktime will have the ability to play wmv files (without the need to download 3rd part software such as flip4mac)?

1) use the F4M uninstaller - it is included in the download package.


2) Not going to happen - ever. Since MS discontinued support for their proprietary WMP for Mac, I doubt we'll see hugs and kisses anytime soon.

And who cares? Installing a couple of import/export components into your QT library is hardly intrusive.

Go to popwire.com. They have a product similar to flip4mac in a universal format (works on Intel Mac). I have used it successfully on Macbookpro.

Can anyone help me find a plug in that will allow me to play wma and mpeg files on quicktime that is run on the new Intel based system?

I tried this and it said it could not parse it.

do you have macbook pro. I'm having troubles cause of the intel based processors. Confused on exaclty what to download to view wmv files. It says to make sure it has a universal binary component. Any ideas?

Does Popwire work with the new version of Quicktime (7.1)? Mine seems to be hit and miss...worked great in the old version of QT.

So could someone please share as the most overall-best app to play .wmv file in Intel- Core Duo Mac?
