Just upgraded to OSX 10.5.8 and Safari 4.0.3. Loading web pages in Safari 4.0.3 is very slow taking up to 20 secs for some pages when in the past it only took 1-2 secs max.
I just tried this for my operating system, and now Safari will not work at all! I would rather have it slow and working, than not at all -- what do I do to undo everything that I just did???? PLEASE HELP, URGENT!
Safari will not work at all. I tried deleting the new location I made, and nothing. What do I do? I do I get the DNS back to what they used to be? HELP!
How do I undo this? I have now tried reinstalling Safari, and still nothing!!! ow do I get Safari working again??? I don't care if it's slow either, I just want it back working. PLEASE PLEASE HELP! I'm at working and things are going very badly now. I'm completely desperate.
Mahalo nui loa for your advice on adding DNS numbers to increase the loading speed on the internet after I installed Snow Leopard which slowed everything down to essentially dial up speed. The new numbers worked perfectly, and everything loads up almost instantly - faster than ever.
Thanks. It worked. I was experiencing very, very slow load with safari 4 and had to reinstall safari 3.2.3. This has speeded it up so I may give safari 4 another go.
(If anyone wants to see how I got back to safari 3.2.3 without reinstalling my system please see my other post.)
A very helpful thread everyone and SPECIAL thanks to Starman for speeding up my life here significantly! It had began after installing 10.5.8 and not a tech at Apple had done the same upgrade. (inside knowledge I suppoose?) began happening intermitantly and I thought it was either the Cable Company, the modem or the AirRave device that uses modem to put all my cell calls onto the net and thereby avoid dropped calls up where I live. Said goodbye to Verizon with good riddence!
MacBook Pro feels brand new again...But really why doesn't Apple make this information more available to us in targeted ways (like their marketing presently) to specific model's users that may be affected by for instance this or a similar global issue? I suppose one can't teach an old dog, by it's cover and eat it too, eh?
I've had the same problem lately of some of my favourite websites that I go to all the time just hanging and not loading fully like they used to.
Can you explain why we have to go and insert these DNS things now, when we never had to do it before? I mean I am in no way an advance computer user, all I do is email and surf and do some basic stuff, and now I have to learn all these "workarounds"??? It was fine before, the websites loaded fast with no problems, I have not changed my ISP provider at home, it's the same old DSL, and since I went up to Snow Leopard and updated everything my speed went down. I don't understand.
Nobody said you had to change your DNS entries; it's only a suggestion to speed up Safari where using your normal ISPs DNS entries aren't working fast enough. It may not help you, but the only way to find out is to try it.
If that doesn't work, there are several other things that could be amiss in your system, which we can also try to address.
