Aperture 1.5.6 and Snow Leopard

Just installed Snow Leopard and tried to put pictures on Aperture but get a message that my version of Aperture cannot be used with this version of MAC OS.

Can this be true? If so, why has there been no notice that upgrading to Snow Leopard might make some Apple programs obsolete????

My take is a bit different. Apple, Google and Amazon are top companies based on consumer trust. A smart company is interested to know when their customers are disappointed, since this reduces the consumer's trust. A smart company tries to minimize incompatibilities when they upgrade their OS and tries to warn users that their own software will break with an OS upgrade. In a dog eat dog world the consumers must be wary and go out of their way before upgrading to an OS aka "buyer beware". But consumers actually don't like this "buyer beware" business model. Instead consumers like a company that goes out of their way to protect the customers best interest. Source. Nightly Business Report Oct 13, 2009. So IMHO, it is in APPLE's best interest to let owners of Aperture 1.x aware that Snow Leopard will break their software. And the first step would be to fix the official APPLE blacklist to include Aperture 1.x.

Companies that rely on "buyer beware" and "why didn't you read the fine print" often see limited growth and loss of brand name image. I don't think Apple made it to the top in consumer trust by relying on a "buyer beware" philosophy.
