Itunes and 64bit Windows 7 RTM
I have recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 64bit RTM. I have installed the latest version of iTunes using the x64 installer. I am now not able to sync my ipod shuffle or ipod classic. Essentially the initial erase and sync works ok when connecting to itunes for the first time, however any subsequent synchronisation does not work at all. Itunes detects the presence of the IPOD, it also attempts to sync, but just freezes for a period of time. The IPOD shuffle doesn't generate any errors in itunes, but the IPOD classic generates "The IPOD <name> cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found".
I have another computer with Windows 7 32bit RTM and I can sync both ipods without a hassle. I suspect the issue is itunes and x64.
I am using itunes 8.2.1.6, and neither computer is running any A/V software.
I have read a number of articles about itunes and 64bit windows, but no article has provided a resolution.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks.
