Wireless keyboard caps lock light not working

Hey, said it all in the title but here's the story...

Got home today and realized that the caps lock LED don't light up anymore. Has anyone else had similar problems? If so, how was your situation rectified?

The keyboard still works fine, don't think its a bad enough problem to have it replaced or be without it for ages. Could see if apple will allow a straight swap at the shop...

I'm having the same problems...caps light not always working and a computer that doesn't want to wake up (or sometimes go to sleep). I've called Apple Care several times regarding these issues and they say that they have never heard of these problems. Hmmm. Do you by chance have Extensis Suitcase X1? I thought that may be a possible cause for the wake-up problem, as it's an older program that's always open. Let me know. Thanks!

Hi,
have the same problem with my brandnew iMac.
Key function works fine, but lamp sporadicly would not turn on or off.
This status stays valid until i restart the keyboard.
I usually only sent the computer to sleep and restart it after some days when the memory runs in overload.
But this incident happens also when the memory is still very free.

The clerk at the gravis shop said he did not know the issue and treated me like an idiot who could not press the caps lock key.
Of course the keyboard had no problems when he tested it at his desk.
He also said that it could not be a bluetouth problem.

After reading this and some other threds i will print them out 100 times and slap his face with the pile of paper.

Could anyone get any replacement of the keyboard or any repair.

I will report on my next experience at gravis.

And send a feedback to apple to the posted adress.

Made two changes recently and I don't know which one caused the change but:

(1) changed from a Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter to a Rev C D-Link USB Bluetooth 2.0 Adapter because the belkin would wig out when I would change my batteries, requiring a restart of my computer to get my mouse or keyboard back

(2) Upgraded to OS 10.6.4

Have been running for 14 continuous days (no reboots or logouts) and the "caps lock" key is still working!

I'm an ACMT at an AASP and I've seen this issue a number of times already. Replacing the keyboard does not correct the issue.

When the LED becomes unresponsive the quick fix is to reestablish the Bluetooth connection; you can do this a variety of ways: turn the keyboard off/on, restart the mac, pair the device, pull the batteries…

There is no need to reset your PRAM or SMC! You do not need to replace the batteries or put them in a different order. This is one of the most frustrating issues for us as Mac users because it's extremely intermittent and we can't reproduce the symptom reliably. There's nothing worse than saying to a customer, "Sorry, it's a bug that Apple hasn't acknowledged yet."
