Sudden Log-out in Snow Leopard (+ Blue Screen)

Similar posts here show that other people are being spontaneously logged out of 10.6, faced with a blue screen, and then the login window. In my case it is caused by connecting my bluetooth (BT) headphones, as the log below states.

Short of never using my BT headphones or any other peripherals, has anyone found a solution to this terrible bug? Comments like "[Many applications shut down here]" are added to show that the log is just repeating with different applications.

I had my first one of these today. Fortunately I didn't lose anything despite having many open applications (you get used to saving often when using MS Office). I was using Word and Excel 2004 and playing music through iTunes Airtunes. Other apps open included: Pages, Mail, Safari, NetNewsWire, Omnifocus, Omnioutliner, Textedit, Preview, Nottingham, Quicktime 7.

The tipping point seemed to be opening iMovie 09 and trying to adjust the white balance in some HD footage. The preview would reflect the change for a moment then return to the original; I kep trying then iMovie hung. Then Excel declared that autosave had been disabled due to some problem. Seconds later the screen went blue and I was returned to the log in screen.

Perhaps my experience will help someone find out the reason?

Definitely not just a Snow Leopard issue. This is happening on a number of Leopard installs here too. It does seem to be a Rosetta issue. Although it happens randomly, it does always happen with one of the Microsoft Office 2004 apps running (background or foreground).... most especially with Entourage.

Fonts might be a culprit, as the font caches are typically wrecked after this blue screen to logout happens....

Has anyone determined what the UCKeyTranslate function is supposed to be doing?
