Alesis Firewire Multimix 12 - GB "08 works fine -any problems going to '09?

I have a question which may be on or off topic depending on the answer, but during the last 3 days I discovered Alesis discontinued the MultiMix 12 Firewire. Customer rep told me he was too far down the food chain to know why, although we agreed they must not have been selling enough. Aren't we smart? Does any one have any insight into any issues related to GB compatibility which might cause this model to disappear? Alesis was otherwise very helpful, offering to send a Cubase upgrade which I didn't know I needed as all seems to work fine, although I'm gun-shy about snow leopard and haven't done it. Also they seem to have discontinued some other models from what I read here. To restate: anyone know of any GB issues (or OS issues) which might be factors in stopping the AlesisFirewire12? I also noticed Hang Time has stopped including Alesis FW interfaces where they were listed previously, though I don't know how to interpret this. Again, everything is working fine but I'm looking for info related to GB and Alesis to head off any problems if they are developing.

For reasons I can't explain, the Alesis has reappeared in HangTime's interface promo page , where 5 min. ago it wasn't. This was not the main point of my question in any case, which related to the demise of the MultiMix12, and could certainly be a problem on my end.
