What??? No new Touch with a camera??

It's a tech-support forum, not an online place for you guys to post your whine-fest every time you think you know how to run Apple better than Apple.

Like most of you I, too, was already to buy a new iPod touch w/camera. (I was hoping it would do both still photos and video.) I couldn't decide between the 32 or 64 GB version. I currently have a 16 GB iPT 2G. I looked at the "Capacity" bar for my current iPod and it shows I have nearly 8 GB "free". My audio takes up 4.7 GB. My photos take up 227.7 MB. My 130 apps only take up 928.8 MB. "Other" takes up 625.1 MB.

I figured having a camera available I would be taking lots more pix than I do now so I'm going to want room for those. I'm not into buying tons of music. I've got most of the "productive" and "utility" apps that I want already. I've got 2 pages of my favorite games already. I'm only using about 8 GB, so the 32 GB iPT is more than enough for me, but until the camera is available I feel no need to buy a new one.

I'm rather curious about something. If it's true that there really is an iPod touch with a camera but it's defective, how is it that Apple has new iPod touches (without camera) available? Do ALL iPhones come with a camera? It just seems odd that they put out a "new" iPod touch without a camera. It seems the only difference is it's supposed to be 50% faster. If Apple planned to offer iPT with or without a camera, then I get it, but it seems there would be a difference in price, don't you think?

The disappointment being expressed in this thread over the lackluster release of a mediocre hardware update is legitimate, and this is as good a place to express it as any. If nothing else, it's valuable feedback for Apple.

Once again, for someone with as many posts as you have, you should know better. You are the one who is ranting.

I am bit worried about purchasing the 3rd gen ipod touch. (Yes - very disappointing about no camera and etc)

My biggest worry is they will release a 4th gen ipod touch soon after the 3rd gen. (If the whole camera issue delayed the true 3rd gen touch)

What is the chance of APPLE screwing over 3rd gen touch customers around x-mas time?

Any thoughts?

PS - itunes 9 killed my 5th gen ipod video. GREAT 😟

But whining in here about how Apple this and that is not what then forums are for.
Someone with your number of posts should know that as well.

Flat out and except the eggheads that will get excited over anything and say oh yea lets get the bigger 64gb or the new nano with a camera while the greater majority wanted and expected to see the camera in a newer ipod touch with a 64gb or larger version with video recording, faster speed and the whole enchilada's as far as features..

Apple heres a hint:

The updates for most part are not worth spending money on apple and flat out "SUCK" as i know i won't be spending a dime on a 64gb with no real new features that make it worth my while other than speed and a bit of a larger drive nor on a lillyput nano with video and pic capabilities which only a person with 20/20 vision and glasses or bifocals might find okay.. wake up and get with the program and give the masses what they want and not just a quick one two so as to squeeze a few more dollars out of the same old same old as the masses as in "WE" DO NOT WANT SPEND ON THE SAME OLD SAME OLD.

In case that wasn't clear WE DONT WANT A REHASH WE WANT ALL NEW FEATURES AND THIS IS WHATS WORTH OUR DOLLARS!!

A FASTER CPU like the iphone
BUILT IN GOOD QUALITY MIC
CAMERA WITH PIC AND VIDEO RECORDING
64 AND 160 TO 250GB DRIVES
AUDIO THATS A BIT LOUDER
VIDEO ENHANCING APPS

Expressing disappointment over the lack of a camera and letting Apple know we're not buying one without this feature is certainly constructive feedback, so this thread seems to be appropriate based on the terms you posted.

However, your own comments appear to run contrary to the section of the TOU you copied here.

this might sound like a real stupid question but my mom has a 8GB TOCUH (beofre I got my iphone 3gs). Is the new 64GB concerered the 3 GEN in touches? Does every modal have a new GEN?

The "3G" for the iPhone refers to third generation cellular telephone networks, which have broadband speed and data capabilities that the first and second generation networks didn't have. The "3G" moniker isn't directly relevant to the iTouch, since it doesn't have cell phone capability, but I suspect the newest iTouch is using the same hardware as the iPhone 3GS (sans phone and camera, of course).
