Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.

On first execution after a clean install of iTunes 9, this error message:

*Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.*

*Error 2*

Can't run iTunes. Already reboot, reinstall, blah blah blah. Windows Vista 32.

"I found the solution myself!

1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally"

Okay, I tried to do this, but it's looking for iTunes on my C drive and I have it installed on an external (G) drive. So when I click repair, it says "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." So what now?

Thanks!

No idea form anyone on how to get the AppleApplicationSupport Repair action to redirect towards a location other than C:/Program Files? I'm about to completely uninstall and reinstall and want to avoid this if possible to avoid any headaches with trying to recover all my iTuens ratings and playlists. I'd like to try this solution, but it doesn't seem to understand my iTunes is installed at G:/.

Thanks,
Joe

apple support application missing? well, dont make it so complicated. You must follow these simple steps :
1. click on the start bar
2: scroll up on the start bar and click run, type msconfig.ex
3. system utility configuration appears
4. click on startup in the syestem comfiguration

finally uncheck ituneshelper on there, and Presto ready to go buddy, you won't be getting that annoying popup message when u start up your computer anymore.

Next step will be to reinstall the software that you need at apple.com
Hope that helps :0)
