Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.

On first execution after a clean install of iTunes 9, this error message:

*Apple Application Support was not found.*

*Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.*

*Error 2*

Can't run iTunes. Already reboot, reinstall, blah blah blah. Windows Vista 32.

Recommendations?

Im having the same problem i accidently uninstalled apple app
and now itunes wount open i have about 5000 songs and i dont want to loose my music i tried downloading winrar but itunessteup does not show or open wit....
plzzzzz help!

I need help, I download that link and then the only option was run, so I run de program, and now I have no idea about where to find CMD LINE (or what does that means), Anyhow, I use my music all the time for my classes and I am lost with out the chance of using iTunes!! please help in a lenguage for dummies like me!!

I uninstalled Norton Antivirus, then downloaded itunes again and it worked. Itunes works fine 🙂

Hi 🙂 I am having the same problem and have tried doing the steps mentioned in the discussion with WinRar and the other steps, I tried switching off the firewall and still Itunes doesn't work saying it cannot find the Apple Application Support. I even tried downloading it seperatly and nothing. Did you guys find a solution to this misery? I'd be glad to know because I have a ipod touch and I need Itunes to put music on it. Thanks.

I've tried every single thing suggested in this thread and still have the same problem. I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit. Anyone willing to walk me through this? Otherwise I've just wasted my money on a worthless iPod.

1stly i dont find repair option for appleapplicationsupport.msi , wen i doubleclick, it goes on 2 instally until it shows an error:

Really wanted this to work and it didnt. I have a ipod and itouch so i NEED itunes ! I'm not going to give up until i solve this. I've tried ALL of these ideas that everyone has contributed and read EVERY post and nothing is working. Please help me out if you find something. I have a Samsung R519 and have Windows 7. Thankss 😟

Had the same problem. Also with quicktime. I was able to install by saving the file and instead of just running it, I right clicked and used 'run as administrator'. Because it is faster, I first installed quicktime this way, then iTunes. I don't know if it will work on iTunes first.
