I don't mean to be too picky but the background is actually like a gray color... I mean yes I did this fix last week and while Im very thankful for it I wish we could get that solid BLACK glossy backgound back. It just looked "cooler" (if that's a word, haha).

Anything is better than the white but I wish we could just have a choice... Wouldn't that do the impossible and for once make everyone happy? ? ?

I don't know exactly why, but the heavy reliance on graphic images may be the reason the white background creates such a harsh contrast. While I usually can do OK using discussion boards, I find product displays hard to see against a white background. This is true whether it is Apple, the iTunes Store, or Pottery Barn.

It isn't 'logical', but judging from the large number of individual posts, it is a real difficulty that many of us have. I would love to have more flexibility in choosing a 'skin' or background for viewing. If not, then a return to the pre-9 format would be welcome.

I have posted to Apple's feedback page three times on this and other issues I've encountered using iTunes 9. I hope they are constructively responsive.

i really dont think the white background does good for me
first it makes everything very bright which is annoying especially when your high.
second i mainly listen to metal, trash metal, black metal, death metal etc
soooooo the white doesent do my album artwork much justice

im not saying it should go back to being dark because some people might like it white.

BUT
you should make it so that we can change it to our own prefered color
i think that would be best.
thanks

The changes to to iTunes 9 are HORRIBLE!

1. The *WHITE background* is terrible for your eyes. Where are the choices to customize our computer experiences? We should be able to change the background colors, add a pattern, etc... Not everyone likes a white background or a black background. I like a dark gray.

2. Now the *GREEN BUTTON* changes the size of the window instead of changing the window to the MINI PLAYER! Thanks APPLE! Now I have to use yet another key command to switch to the the Mini Player. Why did they change this?

3. iTunes still has the strangest method for sorting and organizing your play lists, especially in *GRID view*. You should be able to simply move albums around like folders and place them in the order you desire on the grid.

4. *APPLE continues to take away features* and lock you into anything but "personal computing". The new iTunes is a step backwards. I wish I could easily go back to the previous version.

I signed in simply to add my opinion and vote to having a slider to adjust the background color. I have been very pleased with everything else in iTunes 9 except the now white and unchangeable background mess! I am pretty young, and have great eyesight, but the white background hurts my eyes and really distracts and takes away from the albums and their artwork. Hopefully Apple will see this thread and all these posts and realize that in order to keep us all enjoying and using iTunes and from going blind, they'll need to change the background or add a slider.

Too many pages to read, so sorry if this was suggested already but.... I don't see why we can't format the entire iTunes window ourselves ??? I hate pretty much everything about the new v9. I can't find things where they used to be. There aren't things that used to be,simple things such as when I look at the full list of the top chart songs, I would like to see WHEN THEY WERE RELEASED, now there is no dates.
I don't have an iTouch nor do I have an iPhone, I simply have a classic iPod. I don't want all the windows on the homepage for Apps and so forth.
Is it too much to ask Apple to give us the options to format our page like other websites??
