"Cannot connect to itunes store" "Invalid argument"

Ever since upgrading my iPod to 3.1.1 and the new iTunes, I can connect to the iTunes store fine on my Windows PC, but cannot from the iPod. I can, however, get internet in general.

Has anyone come across this before?

iPod Touch 2g 8Gb, Other OS

This is exactly what you need to do. A lot of the other suggestions are assuming you use your itouch only under your router at home. I use mine under several wifi networks and was having the same issue. I did this and it worked again instantly.
