Drivers for Canon CLC 3200 and Canon IRC 2380

Any ideas where can get these drivers for Snow Leopard, I heard that Canon would release drivers 2 - 3 weeks after the launch of Snow Leopard but the latest Canon printer driver download from Apple does not include these models, any ideas?

Hello Craig,

Sorry to read you still have not got this working properly. Not sure why this is giving you so much trouble.

First of all, I agree that you don't have a Fiery attached. You would not be able to print via LPD with no queue name if you did.

The Canon PPD does not look anything like the PS or UFR2 drivers. It is very plain and menu based, much like the print dialogs of 'the good old days' 😉

But it should be letting you print in colour. If you open a document with colour and select to print, change the menu to Printer Features and then the Feature Sets menu to "Color 1". The first menu item here is "Color Mode" and this may be set to "Printer Default". Try changing this to "Color" and then press 'Print'.

Does this print in colour? If it does, then it would indicate that the printer's default colour setting is set to B&W. You can change this via the iRC3220 touch panel. Press Additional Functions > Printer Settings > Settings and then scroll down several pages until you find Color Mode. This should be set to Auto Detect or Color (using my iRC3380 Printer Guide as a reference here so the wording could be different on your iRC3220). If this is showing B&W then this has been your nemesis all this time.

If this is set to Color or Auto, then I will have to have another think. Let me know what you find...

PAHU! You are a genius! The printer was set to a Black and White default and the driver for some reason will not override it. When I print in Windows mode, it does not do this.

It appears that I have to manually change the settings on the printer when I want to print in color, which is much easier than what I have been doing. After asking around, it appears that our company is charged for all color prints while black and white are free so we obviously encourage printing in black and white unless there is a reason to print in color.

Thank you so much for your help. All of us on this forum and others truly appreciate your help.

Thanks again!
Craig

Hi at all,

I have the same problem as Frank W. I have installed the URF II driver for the Canon IRC 2380. The printing of the test-page works fine, also if I want to print out of word oder excel or adobe reader it works fine to. But if I want to print out of Mail or any other apple prog. the app crashes. It just crashes in 64bit mode and if I start the app in 32bit mode it works fine.

Now is my question: How can I make it work in 64bit mode?

Thanks for good answers....
