Swollen warped battery?!

Hey,

As most macbook pro owners, my lid has warped on the left hand side upwards, but now suddenly my battery popped out of it's shell.

It has just seemed to swell and burst out so that the laptop doesn't sit flat anymore. I have had to take the battery out, and just plug the laptop in and use it like that.

What should I do? A brand new one is £97.00 which is just completely out of line, I paid for a £1600 laptop, and all this warping and swelling happens, and they expect me to pay for a new battery at £97.00?!

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

"Perhaps that explains why Apple encourage their devoted users to share their issues here *where they can dutifully ignore the problems."*

Apple will not respond on this message board because these are user-to-user forums where everyday folk post questions and offer answers to each other.
If you want "Apple's" involvement then post on the Product Feedback site as I previously stated.
Apple's Discussions is free & excellent for _*people whose warranty has run out and/or have no type of warranty of any kind.*_
I'm from the generation, that if you have a warranty, +"use it before you lose it!"+

Free replacement of batteries is done on a case by case basis if you are out of warranty. Quite a few people have had great success by calling Customer Relations US# 1-800-767-2775

Just a tad. 😉
