iphone bluetooth interference garble with Pioneer DEH-P7000BT car stereo
I use the iphone 3GS and have the Pioneer DEH-P7000BT car stereo. I have loved them both. BUT - since the 3.0 firmware update on my iphone, i am having garble interference when using my iphone with bluetooth through the DEH-P7000BT. Never had the problem before 3.0 and the 3.1.2 update has not helped.
Thank God I'm not crazy! I have the identical problem same stereo in car, same garbled speech on bothends of the conversation. You didn't mention it, but mine is cyclical - comes in about every 45 seconds or so, lasts from 10-25 seconds, then clear again. The connection with my first gen iPhone was crystal clear - a joy to use.
I spent an hour at my local Genius bar this weekend and am no closer to a solution, even after they swapped me for a refurbished phone. If anything it's worst. My best? Apple will have to first acknowledge there's a problem (no go on that yet) then fix it with a software update and who knows how long that will take. I
FYI I alsoemailed Pioneer to see if there is any firmware updates for the deck. I' e certainly not seen any on their site, but other than a confirmation email I haven't heard back.
Does anyone know of a similar car stereo to the Pioneer FH-P800BT that works well with iPhone (bluetooth) and integrates well with ipod functions (preferably double din) for about the same price?
I have this problem as well. Immediately upon going to 3.1.1 - fortunately I went into the store and swapped out my phone for one with 3.0. Too scared to upgrade the firmware on the phone until this is resolved.
Wanted to add a post as the more the merrier - maybe someone will resolve this.
Funny, I got the same garble issue with a set of vModa headphones when I first got the 3GS - headphones were fine on 1st gen phone and 3G - invested in new headphones for 3GS. Leads me to believe it is in the phone.
Still searching and searching for a resolution to this problem. As others have stated, bluetooth is simply unusable (for phone calls, at least).
I've even tried to locate a phone with 3.0.1 with little luck. You can find them on ebay for about $899, and they want an extra $200 for a phone with 3.0.1.
A few things that might be helpful:
-Has anyone tried connecting multiple phones to these Pioneer head units and NOT had the problem with firmware 3.1.x or greater?
-Does anyone have a Pioneer support contact they can share?
-If your phone doesn't work, I think it would be very reasonable to go on to amazon and post a review indicating that your head unit is not compatible with the 3GS - I did.
Any other ideas? The iphone hacking scene has made it very hard to find phones with older firmware, even for very legitimate reasons!
Not including the Bluetooth iPhone issue, how is the Pioneer Premier FH-P800BT as a stereo with iPhone integration? My portable GPS unit has pretty good bluetooth integration, so I don't need the stereo to do Bluetooth. What I really want is something with good iPhone integration. I want to be able to control the iPhone from the head unit or from the phone.
I have got a response from a Benelux Pioneer support department, and they are simply telling me that "Apple changed a great part of the bluetooth stack and the DEH-P700BT is not compatible anymore" !!
Uh oh. That is what I feared - no solution going forward. The question is why aren't these Pioneer models compatible? I have a single-din PT610 in my wife's car that works with her 3.1.3 GS just fine.
If someone has a 3GS that works with these pioneer models, can you post the first two letters/numbers of your s/n?
So, does the Alpine you bought work with Bluetooth and iPhone? Will it let you work the iPhone iPod features fro the head unit and from the iPhone? Which one is it?
Looking around, it looks like the 800BT has parrot but 8000BT might not.
