Yellow tinge from bottom to top of the screen, 27" iMac

that is one big corner hit man, I would complaint about it.

i am not sure if i should call Applecare...All were PERFECT; just the screen

your pictures look blueish since they've been taken with the white balance of the camera set to "Tungsten" (this is also confirmed by the pic metadata shown here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48316548@N04/4458580123/meta/)

To obtain an image as close as possible to what human eyes see you should:

. set the white point of the camera to "manual", "custom"or whatever your camera setting calls it by pointing the lens to the white center of the screen. Alternatively, tell your camera to decide by itself by selecting "Auto"

. take the picture(s)

. reset white point to the value you need for ordinary photos

Well it's just in the very lower part of the screen and hardly visible. You just don't notice it on an everyday basis. Maybe it will be getting worse over time but then I have 3 years Apple Care to use.

The thing is I've setup everything, copied lots of stuff from the old Mac and I don't feel like doing it all over again. It's really time consuming and boring work.

Talked to the retailer and first thing I should try is to update screen firmware released some days ago. Let's see how things goes.

Looks like diffuse yellow in the centre of the screen to me

Was there an update to the screen firmware a few days ago?

I'd read the same elsewhere later today. Any infos about this issue are appreciated.

There are two updates listed on Apple's support website as of today: 1) a graphic firmware update issued Dec 21 and 2) a display firmware update issued Feb 1. Nothing else is posted, and these two updates are not designed to address yellow tinge from what I understand.

Basta@ds im getting a refund now the yellow is better but i now have a band across the bottom, are these engineers fu@king blind???

Refund coming im not having this!!!

If it's that pale, nearly invisible, horizontal band near the dock, that never bothered me.

if its there its not acceptable, cheap *** parts and labor thats why macs have come done on price, slave chinese labor and crap korean (LG) parts

Refund now and wait for a revision as long as thats not yellow, (still not going back to windows 😉 )

fully disappointed, if this is the way apple is going then first impressions NOT great!!

haven't gotten my refund back yet, and I have already bought a new iMac 21,5.

It seems to have exactly the same issues as the first 3 ones!

It's a week 2.

Lots of yellow - should go back

HI There, i would say the right side of the screen is not good may have to return this one as well,here is my 21.5 screen photo compare it against yours mine isnt great either week 53 build,what im going to do is live with it for now and sell later on when all this has been fixed if its ever fixed that is,but in your case i would try for another one. cheers http://imgur.com/patai.jpg http://imgur.com/MBoI6.jpg
