The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required
the error message goes on to say: The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder. FYI, my music folder is empty. I hve several folders labeled "iTunes" located in 1. ~/Library/iTunes, 2. HD/Library/documentation/applications/iTunes, and 3. HD/Library/documentation/iTunes.
The Music folders is located in: user/Music
The iTunes version is 9.0.2
Prior to very recently, I had no problem with the iTunes application. It just all of a sudden gave the message: The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required....
You are having a hard drive problem with disk utility which has nothing to do with iTunes.
You need to fix that problem before you worry anything about iTunes. If your hard drives goes tango uniform, iTunes will be the least of your worries.
And fixing your HD problem will very likely clear up your issue with iTunes.
Has anyone figured this out? I had created a separate user for my son and had opened up iTunes under his profile. I was initially able to add my music to his library. Fooling around, I noticed that it had actually made and copied him a new itunes folder and simply copied all those songs over. It took up space, so I deleted his music folder.
Then I ran across the article
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203 and tried it all again. It was then that I went to his user login and tried to open iTunes that I started getting the message.
