LG 390 Blu-Ray player with WiFi

I am trying to connect to my AirPort Express router with an LG 390 Blu-Ray player. The LG Blu-Ray player sees my network (including the network name and protocol) but cannot connect via either a "Push Button" or manual mode where you enter the SSID network name and password.

I have run across a couple of cases via Google where people say AirPort Express works fine and others that say it doesn't work with the LG. Any suggestions?

Hello All

Is it all agreed therefore that the best way to fix this issue of not being able to connect via wireless to an Imac is to use an ethernet cable?

I just bought the LG BD390 and cant get it connect. It will connect to my router, play youtube. But no hint of the Imac, nor the external HDD I have connected to imac.

Ideally, not wanting to have cables here and there. Is there a fix for the wireless option?

Thanks

In regards to getting streaming from Macs its a simple case of making sure samba is setup properly. afp wont work so you have to get samba working with out password prompt access.

From memory a simple modification to samba.conf should suffice 🙂

In regards to wireless not working its a curious case of a player failing epically. Some people have no issues, others such as many Dlink users had DNS issues, myself cant even get the player to see my wireless router and thus will be picking up an extreme base station on monday.

Will update if i find anything of consequence 🙂

(I use a windows based pc for streaming so cant be of much help there, can try streaming off the macbook however once i get the new router if needed).

EDIT: I believe the line in samba.conf that pertains to the issue of access is the line public = '' this needs to be set to yes. (Should be set by default though AFAIK.) And the line browseable = '' Needs to be set to yes too 🙂
