iTunes 9 keeps asking for my password

(I think since upgrading to +iTunes 9+ - certainly only recently) iTunes keeps asking for my password (for Store), even though I have 'Remember Password' checked.

Anyone any ideas, please?

TIA!

I have the same problem. I bought a TV series and have 4 episodes left to download. I had to disconnect at one point and then I tried to continue my download. It prompted me for my password and then transferred me to my account details. It continues to ask me for my password and I continue to put it in. Eventually it says 'error = 8003'. *** do I do?? I've never had this happen where I can't solve it on my own. HELP!

I have one 'interim' solution, which is not very satisfactory... I have found that if iTunes keeps popping up the password dialog box, the best thing to do at that point is to quit the application at the earliest opportunity. Relaunching it then allows the downloads to proceed, at least for a while, until the issue resurfaces... Better than nothing, but not a solution. Apple, get on this already !

Same problem here: Whenever the iTunes Store prompts me to enter my account name & password (often twice), I get sent to the Apple Account Info page. I click "Done," and my iTunes Store download proceeds.

I previously would get this particular hassle when my credit card wouldn't process, but now there's no indication of any problem to be corrected on the Apple Account Info page. Nonetheless, I tried changing the payment method, with no effect. I've signed out and back into my iTunes Store account, also with no joy.

The problem doesn't keep me from doing anything, just adds more steps and more hassle to using the iTunes Store. If there is a problem with my iTunes account, though, I'd like to know what it is.

I'm going to add to this, I get the same issue and it's now becoming infuriating. A while ago it would ask me on a weekly basis or so, but now it's after every download. I bought Mad Men two nights ago and thought it would download overnight, but it only downloaded 3 episodes before getting stuck on the prompt password dialogue and I had to enter my password twice for every episode in the queue (6 times).

I checked the keychain and the information is there - I am on a Mac Mini late 2009, iTunes 9.1.1 and OS X 10.6.3

It's now easier for me to download a series on my iPad and transfer it across, but that's not really a solution!

Constant login requests when downloading
I have 5 different Seasons I watch on iTunes. Each week there are downloads available.
i can see the list in the downloads menu in iTunes.
Whenever I connect to the internet, and open iTunes, it tries to connect to the store, and download the shows.
That's fine.
The problem is that (in the past) I only needed to login ONCE, and it would download everything. Now, if 6 shows are
available, from the 5 different shows, it will prompt me to login FIVE TIMES! It will do this Every time I reconnect to the internet. It will pop open the login window, and I will enter my password. I can count 3 seconds, and then it will pop up
again. Enter my password (again), and it will wait 3 seconds, and pop up again. Enter my password, count 3 seconds, and then it will pop up again. Enter my password (4th time), wait 3 seconds, and pop up again. Enter my password (5thTime),
then it will stop, and download, but not before jumping over to the account page.
It's annoying just reading that, imagine DOING IT.
It's not over.
Once it gets done the first download, it will want to start the next, BUT........
First it will prompt me to Enter my Password. If I'm lucky there are only 4 different shows left, and I will only have to enter my password 4 more times. If there is another episode of the first show that was downloaded at the end of the list, I will (of course) have to enter my password 5 times.
If I hit CANCEL instead of entering my password, what ever show it was asking about will not download, even though I entered my password for the other shows.
I will get an error:
There was a problem downloading "Show name and episode name here".
An unknown error occurred (8003).
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again.

I would like to add my voice to the many above: I am also getting asked for my password every time I try to update the apps within iTunes. It's really frustrating. I'm using the current latest versions of both OS X (10.6.3) and iTunes (9.1.1). After I enter my password iTunes takes me to the account details screen, from where I have to go back to the apps update page and click update all again.

I called Apple a few weeks ago. They had me uninstall everything that had to do with itunes, except, of course, my library. That meant trashing a bunch of random folders that I didn't know existed, otherwise, I would remember how to do it. It took some time and the problem has returned. The thought of going through that again ****** me off.

I'm frustrated. Hopefully one of you out there that is more capable than i can come up with a real fix.

Thank you.

Well, I am going to chime in also with this same issue. I thought it was because we lost power briefly a couple of days ago and therefore our internet connection while I was updating podcasts and buying a song. Now every day when I open up iTunes it asks for my password and tries to download (again!) a show that is already downloaded and in my Purchased folder. I have the latest version of iTunes and SL. I await an update like the rest......... Judy
