Highlight the text you want to turn into a link. Open the Inspector. Click on the next to last option along the top - with a little white arrow in a blue box icon. Click on "Enable as a hyperlink." There will be a clickbox to make the selected text either a URL - that points to either an external file, a URL somewhere, or to another page on your Web site.
If you click on the "Make Hyperlinks Active" box on the bottom of that Inspector page, when you click on the page's test while editing, you'll be thrown to your link - sometimes you might want that to occur while editing ... but probably not.

There are a number of help/tutorial sites that demonstrate various tricks using iWeb. Roddy's http:iwebformusicians.com, my Old Toad's Tutorials and Demo Sites, and the iWeb FAQ - Tutorials, Tips & Tricks, one of the better tutorial sites out there.

Which might mean that there wasn't anything highlighted on the page you're editing.
What I suggested isn't a "trick" or anything - it's purely legitimate iWeb stuff. I know it works - I have a page full o' links on my iWeb site!

clintbradford is right about creating links. It's a basic feature of iWeb. I have a couple to demo pages showing different ways to use links:
LinkTestPage
Misc. Items
Text Based Navbar
As for a slideshow flash is probably the most used method. These demo pages have several different types:
SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter
Flash Album Exporter Postcard and AutoViewer Slideshow Themes
Jalbum. This method, free, has over 100 different themes/skins to choose from.
Another possibility would be to create a slideshow in iPhoto and export as a QT movie. Add that movie, set it to autoplay and loop in the Inspector/Quicktime pane and position on the page. Export the slideshow out of iPhoto using one of the slideshow options in this window:
![]()
The mobile or medium would be a size and this method will reduce the file size so it loads quicker.

Regarding what clintbradford mentioned. If you don't select any text on the page the link pane will not activate. So be sure you have selected the text that you want to become a link before going to the Inspector/Link/Link pane to assign the URL to the text.

What's the URL of the page that has the audio file on it? Have you added anything to the page previous to today?

I went to an Apple Store the other day, and they gave me a lot of useful information about iWeb and MobileMe. So, when I didn't get an answer to my last posting to this forum, I decided to scrap my first attempt at website building and try again. Today I went to my website AND IT"S NOW WORKING. The song link now works, as does the video link. The link at the bottom entitled, "Demographics" still is not active, but I probably made a mistake of some kind when I tried to set it up, so I'm going to try again.
Is this sort of thing to be expected with websites? Do they sometimes work and sometime not? If so, is this a rare happening, or is it one of those things you just have to accept?
