Avery DesignPro

I want to make custom food labels for some Christmas presents. Thinking of using an Avery peel & stick product.

Should I download AveryDesignPro or use their online software? I don't have any graphics-capable software, strictly iWork09. Opinions, please.

Like Peter said, some like it, some don't. I don't. The Mac version is very lacking, especially compared to the PC version. It is good for light jobs though.

but, here is Avery's website with comments from Mac Users:

You will find both opinions, so best to download and try!! good luck 🙂

oh btw, I made Christmas gift tags using Pages 09 this year and it worked out quite well.

sciacca, I just downloaded and used the AveryPro software for Mac. Neither Pages nor Word really has an easy answer to printing CD/DVD labels.

I needed something quick and easy to put together a label for some pictorial/video DVDs our family hands out at Christmas. AveryPro did the trick. Quick, simple, looks great. I quickly imported a picture, set the text, calibrated my printer and 20 DVDs are done.

Perhaps I could have put together a template in Pages or Word, but I really didn't want to spend all the time getting spacing, etc., right. About 30 minutes, start to finish, AveryPro was downloaded and all my DVDs were completed.

Thanks. Time was of the essence. I needed something relatively simple. Avery worked out ok for what needed to be done. We also made a template with Pages and tried that out. Really what was needed
was more time and experience/ease using both Pages ( an app I use everyday) and Avery.
I also just bought a new printer. Learning curves are tough when time is short.
