iTunes Error 5002
I can't log in to my iTunes account or authorize my computer without Error 5002 coming up. Some people say the can't download music, but I can't even log in. What's up?

meh still not working for me and i live in ky. Is it also a email problem? For some reason i can use a aol email account and not yahoo or hotmail?

Yes, I'm having same problem "5002" error. Tried yesterday 18th and today 19th Dec - no luck. Have never had a problem before. Have given Gift Vchrs for Christmas - hopefully problem fixed by then. Appears I'm not alone

You would think Apple could at least post something about it. My **** it's not that hard for them to acknowledge the problem and that they are working on it. Funny how we have to look and report it between ourselves.

It's all good now. I just bought two items successfully from store. Pleased iTunes gift cards will be usable at Christmas after all!!!

Well I think they fixed it. I tried logging on, and got in successfully
For PC (XP/Vista) users, find the Itunes.exe, right click, choose 'run as' and choose administrator. That worked for me, at least.
Even though the account I was running under was technically an admin account AND it had worked previously, I had to choose the administrator account.

So this error is definiteley solved for all you guys?? I hardly believe it. I installed iTunes 9 (x64 version) today, tried to create an account and got the error 5002 after confirming the page where I have to enter credit card information. I can login at apple.com, so the account seems to be created properly. But I just can't login in iTunes, always getting this **** error. Does anyone have a hint for me? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Mburn52.... The 5002 error this time was definately on apples side... Nothing that can be fixed on a users end. Because iPhones, apple tvs, and mac devices were affected as well.
As for anyone still having the issue... Send a message to the iTunes store for email support. Could be something with your account that they can clear up. Because the known blip is definately done.

5002 is an unknown error - it can occur at ANY error Apple doesn't recognise.
On this ocasion the iTunes server was down, for you it might be different.
