iTunes Error 5002

I can't log in to my iTunes account or authorize my computer without Error 5002 coming up. Some people say the can't download music, but I can't even log in. What's up?

I have never used iTunes before, EVER!!! I have a Zune and was thinking of buying an iPod Touch for the apps and movies/tv shows. I wanted to see what iTunes was like and also sign up for the store. I went through the whole process and I got to the part where it asks me for Credit Card information. I choose none and clicked continue, notrhing happened, it just refreshed to the exact same spot. So I went to a different computer and now it says that the account is already setup. So I try and sighn in and keep getting this error. What a great way to welcome someone who has never wanted to own an iPod. Yeah, you can be a Mac all you want, but I think that if I can't sign in soon, I might just stay a PC.

Hi all,

Had this error - seemed to be a problem with a "stuck" download.

I'm using Vista. What fixed it for me was searching for the itunes exe (in my case c:program files/itunes/itunes.exe) in windows explorer.

Right click on it then select "run as administrator"

Problem was then fixed by going to "store" then "check for available downloads".

Once the problem file was downloaded then all seems ok.

Hope this helps.

Chris
