Green Box Problem in Aperture

Hey All,

I've been having a problem in Aperture 2.1.4. Every now and again, I get an ugly green box instead of my image. It can happen when I zoom in, when I crop, when I zoom out, or just about any time I am changing the view of the image. I'm on a 20" iMac (2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) with 3 GB of RAM and am running Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

I took the machine into an Apple store and they ran extensive tests on the video card and other hardware and everything checked out. Any idea on what's going on? It looks like this:

As others, upgrading to 3.0.3 and 10.6.3 did not fix the problem, as well as running it in 32 bit.

Right now I am comparing lightroom beta 3 and aperture 3.0. If not for the graphics bug, aperture would be the clear winner, though it is a little sluggish.

Apple, 23 days to fix the problem before the trial runs out or Lightroom is the clear winner. How can I purchase a program with such a annoying bug? Especially when it seems apple is ignoring the problem.

I am also having this problem. It happens every time I do some adjustment. I’ve tried 32-bit mode and the other ”fixes” in this thread but nothing works.

I’m on a iMac 17” 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1600. I was so looking forward to Aperture 3, but this makes it unusable. It is better just to use Finder to organize photos. Come on Apple!

Just spent £300 upgrading to Aperture 3 and Snow Leopard and have this problem. Had noticed it before in iPhoto but was able to work around it. In A3, my iMac is now unusable for editing. Although it seems OK with Quick Preview turned on, this is not what I spent £300 for.

Tried the 32-bit mode suggestion but it made no difference for me.

Considering demanding a refund from my friendly (yet surprisingly uninformed) Mac store in Belfast.
