address book sharing slow

hello, it is now two weeks we are running our new MACs . we are all 10.6.2 (3 clients + 1 mac mini server)

I was able to create a shared address book adding the same account on each clients.

What I see is that it is really slow, useless for business applications, you can wait for minutes after you click on one contact or jump from one group to a different one.

our database is made by 1000 contacts and approx 6Mb

any idea?

thanks.

I just found this thread today and can sympathize with everyone on this thread.

We purchased our Mac Mini Server and paid quite a bit to have it set up in order to avoid synching issues with MobileMe. iCal synching is inconsistent between 2 iPhones and 5 clients (logged in as same user). When I tried to implement the AB server and detach from MobileMe AB synching, my address book became practically unusable on that client machine.

I really feel let down by Apple with SL Server. The SL Server website is very misleading and my most disappointing Apple purchase.

Hello!

We have exactly the same problem.

I checked DNS - everything OK.

I checked the settings of addressbook server - everything OK.

Is Lion Server or Mountain Lion Server the solution?

Has somebody upgraded from SLS and it had an effect on addressbook server with shared clients?

As for many of us: the addressbook server is success-critical for our company and I am very sad about Apples behavior.

I hope for an answer. Thank you in advance!
