Alarm clock doesn't ring if you recieve a text messages!!

I'm seriously ticked off today. Thanks to Apple's incredible iPhone I was not able to attend college class today. I set the alarm to wake up early but it did not go off because I received an text message. This is the most incompetent work by Apple because even my old aged free phone never gave me any problem no matter what I received call/txt/vc etc. The alarm always went off according to the time it was set for but who would think something like iPhone would have such a incompetency. Thanks Apple for the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet that we've been waiting for.

FYI, The alarm was set for 7AM, like always which worked until today I received an text message.

This "alarm clock misses alarms" happens to me all the time. Just this morning one alarm was missed. Sometimes it misses the alarm completely and sometimes it alarms too late as it did this morning. It was 7 minutes late. This with all OS versions I've been using during the two and half years and with iPhone 3G and now with the iPhone 4.

My simple solution is just to put 2-3 alarms around the same time, maybe 5 minutes in between. The odds are better for the alarm clock to notice one of those.. but it's really ridiculous that such basic application like alarm clock does not work for such high tech device.
