Can't shoot tethered with a Canon 7D

Just installed Aperture 3.0. I am running OS 10.5.8. I can shoot with my 5D no problem. But when I plug in my 7D, the camera just says busy and no functions or buttons work on the camera. I have installed the Camera update 2.7.

Thanks for the help in advance.

This is maddening.
It works sometimes, not others.

When I turn the camera on, EOS Utility opens automatically AND Aperture tries to import any images on the memory card.
If I quit EOS utility and activate tethering, Aperture tells me there is no camera connected.

If I use EOS to tether (or remote capture) I can 'register' Aperture as an application to receive RAW images, but... it creates a new Aperture project for EVERY SINGLE image it imports.

I cannot for the life of me get tethering working again completely through Aperture... although previously I had it working for about 6 photos.

I was struggling to get my Canon EOS 7D tether option working in Aperture as well and ended up in this forum looking for help, but still no joy.

I then removed the Canon software (EOS Utility, DPP, etc) with immediate success.

It seems Aperture gets confused when the Canon software kicks in as soon as the camera is connected and even though Aperture recognises the camera with the Import window opening, it does not tether. Removing the Canon software solved the tether problem with Aperture immediately recognising the camera.

If now someone can find out how to get the Canon software working and Aperture tethering at the same time....
