Google Servers will not load...

The other day the when I attempted to open my gmail, I was greeted with a "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at mail.google.com" message. My internet is working fine, and I can load any website/server not associated with google. I also tried opening the sites in Safari, but it didn't work. Therefore, I believe it's a problem with my internet settings/router/etc...

I have done the following things:
-> Powered on and off the router
-> Changed ports on the router
-> Cleared my DNS and cache
-> Pinged the google server and was greeted with:

3 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

I am completely stumped, please help me. This is getting extremely annoying...

Well I'll be. I opened up peerguardian (for the first time in ages, i might add), went to list manager from the file menu, and went to the lists and un-checked the active check box. now i can access it all.

Drat - forgot Discussions would eat certain characters.

It needs to be:

sudo tcpdump -n -i en1 > tcplog

But noting the messages above, of course it's PeerGuardian.

It's almost always third-party software.

What's Peer Guardian? I searched Spotlight and don't see anything like that. Could this be something that's installed on our building's network server/firewall?

Could be, or it could also be whatever is tripping PeerGuardian is also tripping whatever firewall mechanism used on your corporate routers.

hi guys, try updating the firmware for your modem. this worked for me. was using safari and firefox
