error(?) while exporting slideshow

Hi,
so while I was exporting a slideshow with about about 100 photos at 1080p (high def.) the bar that shows the progress stops moving when it is two thirds done and the preview thumbnail thing next to it goes pitch black and it stays that way. In the end I had to cancel the export and give up on the slideshow.

If anyone has any idea of why this is happening please tell me...

(at the same time i was monitoring my cpu and temp using istat pro. i'm not sure if dashboard was causing the problem but who knows?)

thanks

I suffered through this error along with everyone else here, but the following step solved the issue for me. I performed some other steps, in addition to No. 1, simultaneously, so I can't isolate any of them as the crucial remedy.

EXPORTING
1. To start the Export and tell iPhoto what content to render, Instead of Selecting just the folder or album to be exported, I selected each image in the album (Cmd-A). This alone made the export run an order of magnitude faster. I can't recall any instruction or Help screen to this effect, maybe it exists, but the acceleration is pronounced. It runs like a scalded cat. Even the status light on my drive chattered away in different colors - which is a mystery.

UPLOADING TO MOBILEME
2. I was still getting this error message while uploading the (mpeg-4 improved) file. "Connection to the MobileMe site (~" is not working," please check connections, administrator, etc.) At this point I applied the fixes suggested by others in the thread above:

- Energy Saver re screen and system sleep as well as checking the MM login box to:

In addition, I added the following:
"Keep logged in to the MobileMe site for 2 weeks."

While these steps worked for me, I'm still interested in learning of any other solutions that may apply to this exasperating and time consuming breakdown in the process.
