Photoshop wont start up

As of yesterday, Photoshop CS wont open for me. It will attempt to open, but I get a message that reads The application Photoshop quit unexpectedly. I have a HP F2120 All-In-One and have recently started scanning photos to my desktop. I dont know if the two applications are effecting each other. At one point there was a message that suggested resetting the defaults in Photoshop. How can I reset the defaults if I can't open Photoshop? Any help in getting Photoshop to open would be greatly appreciated.

HI,

When you can if you are running 10.4.3, you really need to update your system softare to 10.4.11.

You can install the v10.4.11 Combo Update The file is 180MB and could take awhile on dial up.

BTW, Safari 4 requires at the very least 10.4.11 Just so you are aware.

Also, make sure you have enough free disk space. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

By "desktop" I mean "accounts"; the problem is on one computer, 2 accounts. My business account/desktop is all-important, the home-related account not so much so, it's just the principle involved. Until now, have been using CS2 without any problems since I upgraded to it in 2007.

Upgraded to 10.4.11 several months ago, not sure when.

Just for clarification, I'm a visual artist--painter. I use CS2 to produce marketing/sales materials, to process photos of my work, to maintain documentation of my work, etc. Only programming class I've ever taken was Dreamweaver CS3, and I use Dreamweaver 8 (came w/ CS2) on my machine. Because I'm not at the computer every day using the apps full-out, when something goes wrong with the software it's usually when I'm readying for a show or about to send out a mailing, so my thinking is focused on getting the visuals out, not thinking in computer-logic. Wastes a lot of energy.
