Google Search- How to turn off search suggestions

Hi,

Is there a way to "turn off" "search suggestions" in the search field. As I find it quite annoying when I type then move the mouse and something else gets selected other than what I typed.

Glims was the program I was referring to in a previous post, but wasn't sure if I should put the name in, I see now that is seems acceptable. And also now Starman's post confirms what I thought the program did.
