10.6.3 Mouse keeps freezing and keyboard problems

So, I installed 10.6.3 using software update and was experiencing mouse freezing problems along with keyboard glitches (letters not typing, freezing). It seemed like it was mostly happening in Safari, but then I tried Chrome and the same problem.

Decided to reinstall using the combo update... same problem.

Anybody else having this problem. It's pretty intermittent. I managed to get through this post with no problems, and the mouse is still working.

The only way I get the mouse to move again is to shut the laptop, let it go to sleep, and then upon opening it up again, the mouse is functional. But, it's definitely happening only since 10.6.3.

I had the problems a while back when I tried 10.6.3 (while web browsing wi Firefox keyboard was dead and mouse could only move - not click - had to hold power button to restart) so I Time Machined back to 10.6.2 and all was fine. Now I try the new 10.6.4 (used the downloaded update - repaired permissions before and after)and so far one freeze after a half hour. I'll hang in there for a bit but if there's another one it's back in time to 10.6.2 once again.

What is going on???

No more freezing here since moving to 10.6.4 via Software Update.

I have no idea if this will help anyone else but...

I was having an unrelated issue with my Mac Pro yesterday so I ran AppleJack ( http://applejack.sourceforge.net/) in deep clean mode (applejack AUTO, make sure AUTO is all caps) and my Comfort Keyboard is now working. I'm using it to type this.

For those not familiar with AppleJack: AppleJack is a troubleshooting assistant for OS X that runs in single user mode. It can repair your disk, repair permissions, validate the system's preference files, and get rid of possibly corrupted cache files.

No idea what was wrong or what got fixed, or if it will last.
