It's probably got something to do with the *.edgesuite.net address iTunes tries to access. (Apple uses companies like Akami - to whom edgesuite.net is registered - for bandwidth distribution - but unfortunately 'edgesuite.net' is firewalled-out in many situations because it's known for some less-than-reputable ad distribution)
