MobileSync has stopped working

When I try and sync, I get 2 error messages in separate windows:

"MobileSync has stopped working" and "Yahoo go sync client has stopped working".

I have reinstalled itunes, but still get the error.

I know my calendar no longer syncs, but have not yet discovered if anything else still syncs.

I am running Vista Pro.

I have followed the instructions on the Apple site to remove ALL apple software from the computer, and to reinstall iTunes.

I still have the same problem. My ipod Touch is now a useless piece of equipment, since I can no longer carry my contacts and diary with me, and have had to go back to my iPaq since I am not prepared to wait a couple of months for Apple to fix this bug (and introduce a few more) with an untested version of iTunes.

This is a last resort at getting the problem solved before I abondon any plans of upgrading to an iPhone.

i uninstalled, and reinstalled itunes 9.1
and it seemed to fix the problem i got my iPad to sync up ONE time.
then i tried again and it says it can't find the disk, give me 2 errors
so now i'm to square one

i dont understand why itunes is being so gay, its giving me alot of trouble. it seems to detect my iphone fine but it wont detect the ipad.
i hard reset the ipad.
itunes now detects it but fails to sync.
i reboot windows, now it fails to see the ipad completely.
its a hit or miss, i keep trying over and over and it seems to see it sometimes but still wont sync

I am glad that most people have found the cryptic ways to make it work... wonderful. I am happy for you but frustrated for myself.

Okay, I was on the phone with Apple Support today and they helped me fully uninstall all things Apple and then install the new iTunes after removing all traces of files in Common Files, System32, etc. It worked, so to speak to the point that they said that my Norton Antivirus is the cause of it not syncing now. Lame in my opinion as there was NEVER a problem before in 9.0.13.

Okay, so I moved the app to my home computer and am syncing... good... I think. My home computer is taking over 2 hours to sync!!! I have read this before where they were able to sync once and then boom! No more. I hope this is not the road for me after ripping this out of my work computer (pain the in butt because I travel a lot!).

I am still so frustrated at Apple and the shoddy quality control in releasing this software. This is a huge failure in the QA and teaches me the consistent lesson that I should have learned from my last 2 times of dealing with QA taking a snooze during a release... don't update for a major product release!!!! Don't do it... stay away from the OK button... do NOT touch it! Wait for the rest of the Apple Guinea pigs to run through the gauntlet of pain and reverting to older version and hacking their computer to get one app to work.

I will post if this move is somehow unsuccessful later on. I keep you all informed.

Hi

Does anyone know when Apple are going to release another itunes 9.1.1 update to correct all these issues we are having now with itunes since the itunes 9.1 update.

Its very annoying that it hasn't been released yet and I am not willing to uninstall current and go back to the older version, too much hassle.

Apple hurry up with a quick fix NOW!

Using an iTouch & Office 2007.

I recently updated iTunes to 9.1 and I receive the same two errors re: MobileSync and Yahoo Go Sync Client every time I try to sync.
Now my Calendar app won't update.

I had no problems before 9.1.
I've tried a number of things and ALL have failed to fix this problem (resetting my iTouch, disabling OutLook sync, turning off firewall, etc.). I have not tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling, sorry won't go there - I've spent too much time on this as is.

This problem was definitely caused the iTunes update(probably something added for iPad support is now hosing everyone else). Hopefully they will release an update to fix this soon. I carry my iTouch with me for 2 apps - the Calendar and Splash Data's SplashID. <sigh> I guess I'll dust off my old PalmPilot and use it till this gets fixed.

I had the same problem at the weekend on my Windows 7 home 64-bit machine.

I sync outlook with my IPHONE 3G and it could see the phone but sync services just would not work properly. I ended up doing what someone else suggested on this discussion to remove ITunes and all the Apple related installations.

Then I installed ITunes 9.0.3.15 and everything is working again.

So I don't think i will be upgrading itunes on that system for a while.

My iPhone synced perfectly with iTunes and Outlook 2007 (Toshiba Satellite, Vist, 64 bit). Then, naively, I clicked to download the latest iTunes, never imagining the problems, and that there is no way to undo it. I know computers well, and have spent 10 hours today on this, with no luck. I installed the old iTunes and Quicktime, then the 9.0 version, I tried to restore a previous system configuration (which will not work now), and during all that lost some drivers (which I've reinstalled).
This is not a Windows problem, Apple. There are enough blogs all over the internet showing the same exact thing. As soon as iTunes 9.1 was downloaded and installed, when syncing, the Mobilesync quits working, I get the same messages as everyone else--and it s really quite frustrating.
There is nothing further I can do now except accept the fact I can no longer sycn iPhone to Outlook. I hope Apple will quit telling people it's a Windows issue and resolve this. After this, I will think several times before accepting another major Apple update.

Apple...

It isn't a windows issue, it is an Apple issue. Apple read all the threads from all your websites around the world, every single user has had the same issue since the 9.1 itunes release.

Obviously your not going to send out a fix cause then it might stop your sill ipad from sync with itunes.

Reading the threads Apple, people are starting to convert back to therew nokia, blackberrys etc because they need the contacts/email/calander sync option. Good way of losing customers Apple.

Now I'm not going to un install and reinstall old itunes versions because I have no idea how to do it and I'm not going to spend hours on Apple support for them trying to solve the issue over it.

Apple please fix this issue ASAP with an itunes update or you might just lose three more apple customers to your competition. Peoplde rely on the sync and you guys can't get on top of it ASAP.

Cheers

Craig
