an inconvenient truth

Is anyone bothered that this device has *no support* for network printing? It doesn't make a lot of sense to have to email a document to yourself in order to print it. As an educator and businessman (two groups Apple was supposedly courting with the iPad) I'm not getting this.

You've gotten opinions- and because most don't agree with yours,
you keep trying to turn it into full blown debate.
The AD boards are not provided to us to have debates.
They're for sharing user-to-user support.

On the contrary, a few seem to be in agreement.

And if I'm not mistaken, they're also to educate us before we make a purchase so that we know what we're getting into.

It's all good Bee 🙂

I think you're going to see a lot of iPads in business and especially in schools.

I have to refurbish two K-12 computer labs over the summer and I'm seriously going to consider acquiring a fleet of iPads instead of the usual mobile carts loaded with MacBooks or Minis on desktops.

If the admins won't buy it as a replacement, they ought to look at them for supplemental use.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that one Bobby. My wife is certified K-12 as a Spanish Instructor. She also Chairs the Technology Committee in her district.

Most of their assignments involve printing, in one form or another with formatted text, text wrapping, graphics, etc. If the iPad can't even print to a networked printer, you'll see a lot of schools pass.
