iBooks crash?
I have had no other problems with the iPad at all. I can even type on it pretty well and am quickly getting faster at that.
Any suggestions?

There are already plenty of reviews on the app right now addressing this issue. I am also having problems which I hope gets resolved when ibooks does another update - soon I hope!
Yesterday I was sent on a 50 miles detour because ofthe new crappy map on my Iphone - thus loosing a potential contract with a new customer. Today I can't open my books and contracts archive on my old Ipad due to IBooks3. Luckily my Mac Book still works... but I don't trust the company anymore.
Both times I kindly mailed Apple to ask about solutions.
Of course I haven't got any reply!

DKbzz, I have used the maps 3 times & it was very accurate. I am on the west coast in a populated area. That may have something to o with it, many times I will use it even if I know where I am going.
I had problems with iBooks3 but discovered that it worked in line display. I clicked on the line display, then searched for a book that I knew was there. When the book i searched for and others came of I erased the search info & everything showed up. I have not tried the book display mode yet. I can read my books again.
It's baaaaaack.
I just upgraded my iPad 2 to iBooks 3.0.1 yesterday. Immediately iBooks started crashing. It opens for one second with a "welcome to iBooks..." message and then it crashes. I tried everything including deleting and reinstalling. It doesn't seem to make any difference. Anybody else experiencing this? I also upgraded on my iPod touch, but that works fine.
Did you do the software update that came out yesterday. iBooks is now working fine for me. The update addresses the "crashing" issue.
Yes, yesterday's update. I know it was supposed to address crashes, but it seems to have the opposite effect on my app. It was working fine until I updated. Now I can't even get it to open.
Oh, no that is a real bummer. Can you get it to star on long enough to change it to "list" mode? That seemed to help mine. I also did a search while there. First only 1 book came up. I then deleted the name in the search & all the rest of the books showed up.
Nope, it only flashes open for a second and then crashes. I've tried to change different things in Settings, but nothing seems to be working. Thanks for the advice, though.
Got it to work. In iTunes I deselected all the books in my library and resynced it. Then it opened okay with an empty library. Apparently one of my books or pdfs was hanging it up. I reselected some books a few at a time and synced it again. Works now. Mysterious.
That is great to hear. I am glad you finally got it working. Unfortunately some apps have weird quirks to them.
doesn't work...have tried this....
