Wifi Not connecting

Hey Guys,

Having trouble connecting my iPad... which is brilliant by the way, to the internet. I have to sign in first through my university portal, which has worked fine on all other apple products till now. After entering the appropriate username and password, the login site stalls and goes no where. When I close, I have to start the whole process over again, getting no where fast!

I have reset both the settings and device, to no avail. The only other additional information would be that its powered by Cisco Clean Access, and I have all the appropriate settings, I have completely copied everything from my iphone, ensuring that settings are correct.

I dont know if anyone can help, thought I would place on this forum before I start contacting Apple Support, you all seem to know more then me.

If you require more information just let me know.

Chris

I'm having a somewhat similar problem at home. My iPad connects to my wifi without a problem, but the only site I can visit is my access point's web interface. I can't even get to my router's interface from the iPad.

All my other devices (Touch, laptops, Roku) can access the Internet without a problem. I've verified that I have the same settings on my Touch as I do the iPad. At first I thought I had a hardware problem, but now it is sounding like a software problem given the number of people having problems.

Ditto here. I use an AirPort Extreme Base Station (11g) and my computers and iPhone doesn't have a problem going to the Internet. I've rebooted the AEBS, restored the iPad, checked everything that the iPad Support pages say to check, but I can't get out. I had no trouble at a Barnes & Noble and a McDonalds last night.

I KNOW the iPad is on my network because I use WiFi to sync an application to my iMac and it works.

I'm going to call Apple tomorrow to see what they say.

I am having similar issues where at home I can connect to network and Internet. However ifI try to connect at Panera or other free wifi spot, I can connect to the network but no Internet.

I called Apple and they told me to clear the history, cache and cookies from Safari.

Will be going out in a few minutes to see if it works. I will let you all know. If it does pnot work I have an appointment with the Apple genius tomorrow

Panera and other free hotspots have an intermediate step in logging into their free networks. Normally, a Safari like page should open up (you may have to wait a bit) for you to read and agree to the terms of service. Once you click OK on that, you are given full network access.

If that page doesn't open up, try going to Safari and refreshing the page that opens. That should bring up the Terms page.

Try this - tap Settings > WiFi > and the blue > next to your network name. What's your IP address? If it starts with 169.x then your router isn't issuing your device an IP address and, as expected, you can't get to the web. If you look at the other parameters, you will find them blank or incomplete.

Are you running the latest firmware on the AEBS?
