I'm a huge tennis fan and watch a lot of live streams. You can say what you want, but not having flash and the inability to view these live streams is a gap, period.
You can rationalize this all you want, but it's still a gap in ipad's ability to deliver what consumers want.
Having said that, I love my ipad and wouldn't trade if for anything. But I'm not such an appletard that I can't see when something is missing.

I am very interested in ipad, but I am not going to buy it, because it will be impossible to surf on certain sites which uses flash.
I am very amazed that apple does not wish to use this technology as far as it closes the market of e-learning which uses almost that the technology flash.
It's a pity...

What technology ? Adobe STILL hasn't produced a version of Flash which works well on mobile devices. Apple can't give you what doesn't exist yet. What Apple doesn't want to use is the standard version of Flash which is designed for full-fledged computers/laptops with much much faster CPUs, lots more memory, and run on electricity. If Apple put that version on the iPad/iPhone, it would slow the system way down and chew up your battery 10 times faster. Apple is correct not to include it. Adobe is wrong for not developing a lite version which works !

ysno,

I am glad that you did your research before purchasing.

I am telling everyone that I meet (friends, family, clients, etc)...
- If you want an iPod with a bigger screen, then go for it.
- If you are expecting anything more than that, then *DO NOT GET AN IPAD*!!!

But do not worry, there are products from other companies coming out soon that will let you view Flash content if you so desire (The HP Slate running Windows 7 for example). I suggest you wait for one of those (I wish that I had).

Tamara,

I own an iPad. I know what it can and cannot do.

With this first-hand knowledge of the iPad's features and limitations, I can honestly say that it falls into the category of a 'toy' and not a business tool.

So, if you want a new toy that is better than your iPod Touch, then go for it. If you want more, then WAIT for something better!!!

The point is that as others have indicated that Flash may become a thing of the past. Therefore one needs to look at and acknowledge that fact. They need to look at what is the replacement or what will be available rather than constantly complaining and focusing on Flash, which is something that they cannot not have now or in the future.
