In an effort to help narrow down these problems I ask that you kindly fill out these questions even if you do not have Wifi problems
Brand of Router:
Does it transmit a Wireless G or N signal or both?
Does your iPod Touch/iPhone/Macbook/PC etc connect fine to your router?
Do you have a password on your Wifi connection?
If so, what type of encryption do you use? (WPA/WEP etc)
If you disable the password does it fix the issue?
If so, do you still lose the wifi (in the top left) but then it reconnects?
Thank you all, I am hoping strongly this is a software issue and not a hardware one!

Looks like 90% of people are running dual band are having problems (N + G) and the new apple support article seems to support my thinking. Can you guys force it to G only?
I can try to force G only for purposes of this test (and I'll do that and let you know what happens), but that's not a good permanent fix for me. The problem is that I have an Xbox 360 that uses wireless and it's the older B-only network adapter.
I set the Belkin N1 to G only and it still had the same issue (let the iPad idle for a while, wireless goes into standby, when I try to use it again it connects at full strength to the router but will not connect to the 'net).
Back to the drawing board. I'm about ready to take it to the Apple store.

My wife's iPad does the same thing. She even took it to her aunt's house and had the same issue.
I'm using the iPad in the same locations I used my iTouch, front porch and bedroom and losing connection much too often and then having problems reconnecting. Sometimes when connected, the speed is very slow. I tried purchasing an APP last night with a strong signal but before the APP downloaded, the iPad disconnected leaving a ghost icon in the iPad screen which I had to remove via restart.

Similar issues here too. iPad 64GB weak wifi even on top of router. Airport Extreme, both G and N signals. Strong connection signal with several different iPhones and iMac. Password protected. WEP. Diabling does not effect signal.

My home netgear range max connects great, great speed on the n signal, the range max has a button you press to allow new connections and when not lit no one new can connect, that why it is not secure. So on that front it works great. HOWEVER I also purchased a Sprint Overdrive wifi Hotspot, works awesomely with my iphone and had security enabled (wpa). My ipad never ask to connect to it like it did on other available connections but did find it under the wifi networks. I setect teh overdrive to connect to which it did after entering the password and some time to link to it. Connection would drop but it never would get a internet connection. I removed all security and it finally will connect to the internet however loses and reestablishes the connect a lot. If I'm near other known connections the losing connection causes it to switch over to the other connection even when the signal is very weak.
In summary there is an issue with the wifi secure connection in the ipad and for some reason the ipad and sprints overdrive DO NOT work well together.
