Thank you crumpet Kate. Searching for another video freeded up app. This is s really annoying issues as i was traveling and had no computer with me. I Expect apps to crash on other devices but on iPad. Apple you need to fix this bug.
Thank you, your solution worked for me!
Thanks crumpet Kate , this worked for me .. Had black screen on videos app ... Much simpler than any sort of reset!
Thanks Crumpet you've made my day!!
This is when we say "Why I didn't think on that? was simple!!
Thanks for avoid the reset thing!!
🙂
Bloody Brilliant!!! Many thanks
I had an issue that my video app got stuck in black screen which had happened before when I would close the Ipad2 with the smart cover while the video was running. However normally after 1-3 reboots the app would be normaly functioning again. However this time even after rebooting many times the app kept the same condition. I also found out that I cannot remove the app like others as it is a preinstalled app. There was no way for me delete the videofiles so I start looking here. Although I had no confidence in this soltion of Chrisswell50, I was desparate enough to give it a try. What a surprise when I transfered my purchases (only apps/music so no video) the video app was working correctly and even was paused on the spot where I left the podcast when I closed the Ipad.
SO THIS WAS THE SOLUTIONS THAT SOLVED MY PROBLEM
Dear Jate, how do you search on your Ipad ? I have not seen anything until now that I could use to search my ipad, thanks Hedzer
Though these posts are quite old, the problem hasn't been really solved by apple yet. My new IPad3 has the same problem. The solution is quite simple however:
If this dousn't the trick, untick the synchronisation check box for films at the first synchronisation.
Thanks to Crumpet Kate! (No need to reset settings!!!)
Searched for a video, played it, closed it, opened videos (app crashes), relaunch and all back to normal!
AVS Media Player solves the issue. just download the app for free. You have to change the audio to be sent to AirPlay besides the normal AirPlay icon but it plays mounted disks, DVDs, and vid files just fine. Hopefully Apple fixes the issue but it is at least a workaround.
This is MacBookPro to AppleTV by the way
Had the same problem. Started about 1-2 weeks ago. Crashes repeatedly after one second. When I updated the security issues with IOS6 that people could gain access to some info without pass code it solved the problem. I didn't have to transfer purchases to another computer. Just update.
