How do you put date in top time bar?

Hi, I would love to see the date displayed along with the time that's on the top of my iPad . Anyone know how to do this?
I can't find anyplace in the setting. Seems like a dumb oversight.

Lots of good suggestions here. These suggestions, plus sending a feedback report to Apple, may eventually get us some satisfaction. In the meantime, forgive me for reminding everyone that if you put the native Calendar app on your iDevice's dock it will display the day's date number (the icon is dynamic). This is the same as on OS X.

Another option, which I prefer, is to download the app CalCube:

CalCube has the option to display the date number as a badge icon. The basic app, I believe, is free. There is an in-app purchase for $1.99 to add additional functionality. But, I actually don't use the app beyond its Badge feature. What I do is put CalCube in a folder with all my "Time" apps. I then put THAT folder on my dock since I do use those apps a lot (Reminders, native Calendar app, countdown timers, etc.). The date badge generated by CalCube is displayed at the top right of that folder. Since it's on my dock, no matter what page I'm on the date is there on my dock.

Not perfect...but not too bad a work-around...at least for me.

I hope this may be of some value to others.
