Does anyone know how to view protected PDF? My school, University of Phoenix, uses text books that are protected PDF and I would love to use the iPad to read my textbooks. Any help would be appreciated.

My steps are...

1. Open PDF Reader Pro

2. It show the list of PDFs, I select the PDF I want to review

3. The PDF begins to load showing where the username and password can be entered

4. It instantly crashes and you're back to the iPad home screen where you can select apps

You can then view what apps are running and see PDF pro running and when opening it you are on the screen that displayed a list of PDFs select the PDF rinse and repeat

Just by chance, check your app store. There was an update for PDF reader pro just a few minutes ago. Also, my iPad is running iOS 5.1.1 also re-download the PDF that you are attempting to open. It might be the file that is giving you problems. That's the extent of my technical expertise :). The only thing I haven't told you is to power your iPad all the down and turn it back on. That lame thing they tell you to do with pcs.

Thank you all for this discussion. I'm taking classes at Grand Canyon University and they have locked pdfs similar to UOP. PDF Reader Pro for the iPad works great. Unfortunately GCU has the security set so I can't highlight or annontate (apparenty they are unaware students want to highlight and take notes) but at least I am not tied to my desk to read my course books .

Many thanks

I've read all of the posts for this dicussion. Like many of you I attend Grand Canyon University and was looking for a way to open secured pdfs on my iPad. I ended up purchasing PDF Reader Pro and it worked great for my first book. Now that I have downloaded my second book I'm only getting a few words on the page. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can read my book on my iPad again?
