iPad remote control for Keynote?

I tried the Satechi Bluetooth Smart Pointer and it works with Keynote in Accessibility Mode. You need to turn on the VoiceOver on your iPad and you can skip through the keynote slides. So far, it works great. It has media controls as well. Here is the link:

mb: thanks for the tip. Does Presentation Mode and Multimedia Mode also work with the iPad? If so, this sounds like a solution to this long-standing issue.

Multimedia mode also works. The Presentation mode is for the Mac computer presentations. For iPad presentations, you need to use the Accessibility mode. You can check below how it works:

yes, it does look promising. However, to use voice over this way you must mute the iPad (or listen to the racket). What if you want to run a YT video, or a movie with audio imbedded in a Keynote presentation? Have you tried that?

This looks very intriguing! mbstark, does it actually run a presentation, complete with animations and transitions, or does it just flip through static slides?

The mute button in accessibility mode is "Voice-over Speech off", so it does not mute the iPhone. You flip the slides with the right and left arrow buttons. If there is an embeded video, play button plays the embeded video. Since you use voice over, controls take some time getting used to, but right now I am very comfortable with it.

Animations and transitions work as well, the arrow buttons in VoiceOver works like one finger swipe

At long last, just ordered. One thing occurred to me, If you have to mute the VoiceOver function, will it not also mute embedded video in Keynote?

No problem, make sure to setup Triple-Click Home - VoiceOver in settings. This way you can activate and deactivate VoiceOver on iPad by clicking the Home button on the remote 3 times. No need to go to settings all the time.

On the package, Bluetooth range is 30 feet, but it might go further since it is Bluetooth 3.0.

In accessibility mode of the remote, the mute button turns VoiceOver Speech On&Off. It does not mute the volume of iPad, so you can still hear the embeded videos. Actually, you can leave the VoiceOver Speech on, but I guess you will get annoyed with it pretty quickly.

Do you know how the Smart Pointer compares to the other one available on Satechi's website, i.e. http://www.satechi.net/index.php/bluetooth/bluetooth-remote/satechi-bluetooth-re mote-control ?

My question is only fuelled by the fact that the latest one isn't available in the UK, whereas the previous one is via Amazon.
