Problems with Safari: graphical glitches + flash scrolling errors

Hi

There are strange things going on with my Mac and its Safari browser. 2 main problems:

1) Whenever I drag a tab off the tab bar to create a new window, this happens. A graphical glitch that just sticks and won't move at all:

2) Under Adobe Flash 10.1 (RC), Safari sometimes refuses to scroll through any embedded flash. For example, scrolling down a page with the two finger gesture, if the cursor meets a piece of flash content, it refuses to continue scrolling - I have to move the mouse somewhere else and continue.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Same problem. It happens on every website as shown in the screenshot in post #1. Is it possible that it's a problem with Snow Leopard?

HI,

You have pretty much exhausted every possible browser fix. Back up your important data such as photos/videos/personal documents and reinstall the Mac OS X from your install disc or your Snow Leopard disc.

You don't have to completely erase the drive, just reinstall Snow Leopard.

Just checking . . .

1. Did you reinstall the correct version of Flash as andy suggested?
2. Have you tried Safari in another user on your Mac?
If not you can make a new user account on your Mac and test Safari on that account.
3. Have you tried another browser? Like Camino or Firefox? That would be good to test, as well.
4. Did you clear your History list? Just making sure . . .

Just so everyone knows, the Flash issue is solved. However, the main issue with the graphical glitching is not!

1. Yes, now using the latest stable release.
2. Yes, no problems/glitches at all.
3. Only a Safari issue as dragging off tabs is only a Safari feature.
4. History list is clean.

Is there no way I can uninstall Safari somehow?

What, if any, plugins are in Home/Library/Internet Plug ins/ ?

I'm thinking of attempting a reinstall of Safari - is that a good idea?

That's the Facebook plugin. That's why I asked you in my previous post if you had any plugins installed...... maybe that's your glitch.

Yes, no problems/glitches at all.

it's some preference or extra software within your usual account or perhaps... the facebook plug-in.

There was a resolution on this one?
I'm having the same issue, and I don't know how to fix it 😟

I delete Safari and reinstall it but nothing still having the same issue and the scroll bar jumps when I'm using the two finger track pad.
If I use google chrome it works great.

I had these problems too, but removing the Flash Player 10.1 release candidate plugin and installing the 10.0 plugin solved it. CPU use during flash is worse under 10.0, but the graphical errors and scrolling disappeared right away. So I'd recommend reinstalling the Flash plugin and sticking with 10.0 for now.
