I am STILL having this issue after upgrade to latest, reloading, etc. So irritating. I HATE the youtube app, I wish it would just open the HTML5 version of the video in safari when clicking links, etc.

Thoughts (I'm mad right now so its more like a rant)

1) Dont start playing the video when you only have 1 second in the buffer then let the video stutter. These devices are supposed to be about user experience
2) Why does the buffering stop when I pause the video to give it time to buffer? ***!?!?! See number one.
2) Don't blame my network. I have a 22Mbit connection and all my other devices play the video, and it plays fine in safari on the HTML5 version
3) Dont tell me to reset or reload my device. Thats like the idiots that tell windows guys to defrag their harddrives when their mice arent working right.

I saw in the forums to hardset your DNS to something like 8.8.8.8 (googles DNS server) but I dont get why they would matter either. You just need to look up the IP of the youtube server ONCE, not continually during the video playing, so I dont understand that one either.

I just want to uninstall the youtube app and get the few megs and the icon space that it takes up. It's been useless since the device came out. Damnit.

The second day I had mine it was fine. That was the day after the "launch". I watched a goofy 3-4 minute video my dad wanted to see. I hadn't tried Youtube on it again until last night. It would start buffering, then start the video, then the video would stop and I had to hit the "Play" arrow to get it to start again, then it would stop again and I had to do it again. The buffering also seemed to stop every time the streaming video stopped. The buffer stayed ahead of the stream, it just stopped all the time... Not good.

Every iPAD and iPAD 2 I have tested has the same issue. No problem with Motorola Xoom or Samsung Galaxy. The Motorola Xoom is also noticeably faster in back to back web page downloads when testing on same network. (Haven't done same back to back testing on web page downloads speeds with Samsung Galaxy yet). The iPADs 1 is really just a Beta product (The iPAD 2 is virtually the same device) to test the marketing concept and to give users a chance to play with the concept of a tablet. I have come to the realise that the reality is that users have too high expectations for the iPAD devices. Maybe Apple is guilty of over representing what these first generation devices are capable of. The concept is stunning and no doubt later Apple tablets will deliver. Compare issues on the Xoom and Galaxy forums and you soon realise that the Android hardware products are already technically more advanced - even if the apps and user interface isn't quite there yet.
