HELP! "Problem with the driver for Intel 5 Series/3400 series chipset...."

I am using a new i7 MacBook Pro with boot camp running Windows 7 Professional 64bit with 8mb RAM.

When trying to install my new HP8500 Wireless printer I get this error message:
"Problem with the driver for Intel 5 Series/3400 series chipset family USB Universal Host controller - 3B36. Reinstalling the diver might fix this problem"

I have installed the boot camp 3.1 drivers twice and no help. I need help with details as I am no expert!

MacBook Pro i7 15", Windows 7

Another alternative might be:
You should be able to hold down the CNTRL and SHIFT keys when you get the error message screen during the install then click on CANCEL button on the screen to proceed on past the screen with the install process. It will only allow you to install the basic drivers and not the full SW but this might also help folks who find themselves in this situation.

this does not only pertain to HP printer problems do to the fact the problem is the following bootcamp drivers for windows 7 intel chipset:

"Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B36"
"Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B3B"

i have a printer from another company and have the same problem, the issue is the USB driver!
Apple please fix this bug.

i have an i7 15" macbook pro with windows 7 installed bootcamp, and yes, it definitely has to do with these 2 drivers:
"Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B36"
"Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Universal Host Controller - 3B3B"

Now, to all apple support people, these drivers when you are in windows 7 appear to be just fine, but go to control panel, devices and printers, and there you will see the computer icon has an exclamation yellow mark, here lies the problem and would highly appreciate Apple taking care of this as the USB when trying to use my printer does not work.
Thanks you

Hello M@rkoto -- I think I have a good "fix" for the Intel chipset problem, or at least a successful workaround. I was wondering if you would be interested in trying it? Please see my post http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12310773&tstart=0#12310773 for the details on unhiding the ghost USB controllers and disabling them.

Like you, I wanted to run VMware in Boot Camp and run guest machines from external hard drives on USB 2. I have Windows 7 in Boot Camp on a Winbook 17" i7 machine and WMware 6.5. Well, I could get this to work for a long time, but then figured out how to find and disable the bad items.

Now, no problems -- I see all USB items, including USB storage in the VM guest running on the Boot Camp host. Yes it will take a firmware fix to properly fix the issue, but my workaround looks pretty solid.

Can you verify my fix on one of your systems?
