App store and Comic Reader Mobi

I am not exaggerating when I say I purchased an iPad to use the application Comic Reader Mobi. I, along with other users, have been anticipating a big update to the app, when suddenly the app has been removed from the app store.

I paid a significant amount of money for my iPad and I would like to have access to this application in the app store or I will be forced to return the device to the Best Buy store where I purchased it.

Other similar apps in the app store are not nearly as good and I will not accept any substitute.

I will be forwarding information about this app being removed from the app store to any relevant tech blog sites that report on app store news.

Please forward this complaint to the most relevant parties.

Thank you.

Do whatever you feel appropriate for your situation and needs.

OK, but you'll be making yourself look rather foolish if you do since your premise is unfounded.

We're just your fellow users here can cannot forward this to anyone.

Dave, try to purchase the app (don't worry you can't),

Sorry, but I'm not going to risk $10 just to test it. If it's been removed/banned, one would have thought that the developer would remove mention of the app from his own web site. Researching further, though, I do see a post from the developer from just this morning that he's been banned due to lying to Apple about his app. I apologize for making an incorrect statement, but there was no evidence about the ban, even on the developer's own site, without a lot of digging.

along with any suggestions as to the best route to get a complaint through to Apple.

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting). But given that by his own admission the developer deliberately deceived Apple about the app, I think a restoration highly unlikely.

I have been using CRM on my iPhone for a fair couple of months and it's become an essential part of my day as I use it mostly at work (yea, I have a lot of free time). And I was very tempted to buy an iPad just for this app. Now I am forced to find a replacement and am definitely not going to buy an iPad for a second best...

To echo the statements of a lot of the previous posts, this App is one of the sole reasons I bought the iPad. Frankly, the games and internet browsing weren't really it for me, it was the ability to take my already acquired comic books on the go. ****, I bought a 64GB version for this purpose alone. Now I find that I can't even download the app at all? Bogus. Are there alternatives? Sure, but none of them are nearly as comprehensive as this app. I would not have paid the $700+ for the iPad if I knew I would have to settle for some second-best app (frankly, I wouldn't have bought an iPad at all, cheaper or smaller storage options inclusive).

To reprimand the developer is one thing. To deprive a good many people of a function that was part of the reason for even purchasing the device is another entirely. If the Netflix app was suddenly rejected on similar grounds, or the ABC Player, or something alone those lines, you would have a riot.

Facts are that you essentially bricked my fully legitimate iPad a day after purchase. As it stands I have three options: 1) I can buy Comic Zeal, which pales in comparison and doesnt offer the features I was looking for, 2) I can jailbreak the thing, thereby violating the terms of use and exiling myself from the company I spent money to support, or 3) I can return the iPad, take my $700, and buy a tablet PC later this year that will support and nourish my ability/desire to take my collection on the go.

Right now, I'm leaning towards the latter. Please give me a reason to reconsider.

I bought this app for the iPad and it's been really usefull BUT this is entirely the developers fault.
All developers sign a contract in the developers agreement. He rights I. His post he didn't know Apple was drastic, say come on you don't know Apple is drastic arenyou kidding me!
Not only did he not obey the rules and was profiting that other comic book readers could not have that option and sold more but he knew he was going to be banned and he was selling the App for so much money knowing he need to make a profit. It seems a few days before he was actually banned he lower the price to maximize profits.

The o ly thing I wish Apple has was a refund policy.

I just posted this to the iPad feedback page:

The first day I got my iPad one of the first apps I bought was Comicbook Reader Mobi. Now, apple has banned the developer. I do not know if he deserves it or not, but as a user I am getting punished.

Could you at least let him file bug fixes? Give him a week or two, before you pull the plug?

I own 7 Macs, 3 iPods, one iPhone, one iPad and many more apple products. I have exclusively used Macs since 1985, and have convinced many to buy your products, which I use for my research and teaching. I am the loyalest of customers, so please reconsider.

Hi Apple,

Comic Reader Mobi is an EXCELLENT application. One of the sole reasons I bought an iPad is to read the digital comic collection I already have in cbr and cbz format. I bought the $15 application for the iPhone as soon as I came across it. It's simply beautiful. It looks even better on the iPad. I understand that the developer made a mistake. But please, please, please don't make his current or future customers pay for it. Comic Reader Mobi is a great app that only serves to make the iPad an AMAZING platform for comics. It's simply the BEST comic reader out there. Comic Reader Mobi is the only reason why reading comics on the iPhone is bearable. The level of innovation in the product with the lens technology is brilliant and reminds me of apple's commitment to usability. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider your ban.

Thanks,
A loyal customer( of both Apple and Comic Reader Mobi ). Please don't make me choose.
