App store and Comic Reader Mobi

I am not exaggerating when I say I purchased an iPad to use the application Comic Reader Mobi. I, along with other users, have been anticipating a big update to the app, when suddenly the app has been removed from the app store.

I paid a significant amount of money for my iPad and I would like to have access to this application in the app store or I will be forced to return the device to the Best Buy store where I purchased it.

Other similar apps in the app store are not nearly as good and I will not accept any substitute.

I will be forwarding information about this app being removed from the app store to any relevant tech blog sites that report on app store news.

Please forward this complaint to the most relevant parties.

Thank you.

I just purchased an iPad primarily because I became aware of the Comic Reader Mobi. Now when I try to purchase it, I find you have deleted it. In reading over the notes on the developer's site it is painfully obvious that he is a good bit to blame here, but it also seems that he is contrite about it. This app is too essential to the iPad to allow it. I hope you will come to terms with him quickly and reinstate the app.

And just FYI, Robert, you're not addressing Apple here, and definitely not the iTunes Store. We're all just your fellow users.

The developer flat-out lied to Apple about his app (and he says so himself; this isn't just coming from one of us here), so it's unlikely that Apple will reinstate him before the end of the ban. We can hope, though - the developer has admitted that he lied and is discussing the matter with Apple - so perhaps Apple will decide that he's learned his lesson. But having a developer lie about an app is something Apple can't tolerate - if for nor other reason, that presents far too much risk of malware or fraud - so Apple may well enforce the full term of the ban. We'll have to wait and see. You can keep an eye on his forums for further announcements:

I also bought my 64GB iTouch last year specifically for Comic Reader Mobi. Now, with the new iOS4, I can no longer use my favorite and best app since Apple has continued its ban of the developer. Additionally, I was all geared up to purchase the most expensive iPad and decided against it when Comic Reader Mobi was pulled from the App Store. I have been a loyal Apple customer since the last 1980s, but I am really disappointed that Apple will ban a developer because he was trying to accommodate the needs of his customers. Additionally, CRM was banned for providing USB support, something Apple now officially recognizes and encourages for its developers. See: http://www.goodreader.net/gr-man-tr-usb.html#GRUSB_ShowDetails So, please Apple allow Comic Reader Mobi back into the app store so that the developer can make it iOS4 compatible and I can then buy a new iPad to read my digital comics.
