My iphone 5 did this last year and I took it to an Apple store. It called people, sent text messages, the camera would flash taking a picture, etc. They said it was a known problem related to the screen. It only happened at night when it was on a table, face down. They charged me over $100 to replace the screen. Everything was fine until this week, when it started texting at random again.
If it is a known problem with their screens, we should not have to pay to replace the screen. It was not damaged or anything else wrong with the phone.
Indeed. My wife's phone has this issue. e are both on Bell, Canada. My wife has a 6, and I have a 6s. Some times, my wife calls me to talk, and after ending the call her phone redials my number several times. I didn't notice to happen with other numbers. But, the idea to quit using iphones and move to Android or something else, is not bad. It seems that Apple is completely ignoring these issues.
This happened with my daughter's phone last night at 1 AM. It was sitting on her desk, plugged into her bluetooth speaker, and it dialed a completely unfamiliar number (nothing in her address book) in another state.
Has anyone figured this out?
This happened to me earlier in the year and, after speaking for hours with my carrier and an Apple Tech, the tech recommended that I reset my Apple password. We came to the conclusion that someone might be using it to make calls through my phone, but it is strange because the calls do not seem to appear on my carriers bill. It did stop after that. Unfortunately, I just discovered the same thing happening again. I had missed calls - calls I 'supposedly' made, which vary from seconds to over 30 minutes +. I don't recognize most of the numbers and some are local, out of state and to the 1+52 area code, which is Mexico, and some to my contacts. I just reset my password and hope that works. Of course, my phone started freezing on me last week (drove to Apple an hour away) and they told me they could not fix it, that I needed a new one. So many issues with the iPhones now; ready to go Android after this one. =(
My iPhone 6 iOS 10.0.1 did a call to my wife. We were at home togheter and she advised me.
But when I unlocked the phone I didn't found any trace of the ongoing call!
Now I deleted the recent call list and updated to iOS 10.0.2, hoping it will not happen again!
My iPhone 6sPlus did that this morning. It was two numbers from my recents so I cleared my recents, hope that helps. I have been an iPhone user since first generation and never had this happen.
Which iOS did you have? 10.0.1?
It is now 2016 (original post 2010) My iPhone 6plus iOS 10.0.2 started playing a podcast out of the blue while it was in my pocket. I thought I butt started the podcast but then it started calling numbers on my recents and favorites, over and over. I picked the phone up out of my pocket and hit the off button. It proceed to turn on and call numbers on my recents and favorites over and over again. I did a hard reset and it hasn't happened again but this was less than a hour ago. I came on here looking for a solution but none exist. oh well, we shall see.
MY iPhone 6 plus with ios 10.0.2 has same problem. Today it made six out going calls, one after another some lasting upto seven minutes. One number was called twice. It also made a facetime call to my wife. This all happened while I was on my dail walk with phone in my pocket. I only heard the ring for outgoing facetime call. Not all numbers were in my recent calll log. At least one person called me back that he had missed call from me. This confirms that calls were actual. I am hoping this is one off nuinscence and will go away. Have never experienced this before.
I Fixed my 6 plus by turning off Siri in lock screen. Go to settings/Siri and turn off access on lock screen. For good measure I also turned off the hey Siri option. No more problems.
My husband's iPhone 6s with the latest OS.10.1.1 is having problems daily of his iPhone facetiming random people and we have even turned off Facetime on the control settings and he is not wanting to even use Facetime. When have taken it the store and they calm there was nothing wrong with the phone but it keeps happening and extremely embarrassing. Please help!
I had found this earlier in this conversation, "I Fixed my 6 plus by turning off Siri in lock screen. Go to settings/Siri and turn off access on lock screen. For good measure I also turned off the hey Siri option" It worked for me too.
